Forever I Will Stay

Forever I Will Stay - Keegan baptism

Hey, I don’t know anyone who wants their life to fall apart. Nobody sets out and says, “Today I hope I can do something stupid enough to destroy my family and my career.” People just don’t think like that or act like that, normally. But I often wonder how much thought people give to their everyday choices that little by little lead their lives to ruin. How often do people consider what kind of foundation they are building their lives on?

Jesus calls all people to do two things: listen to his words and do what he says. This requires some major effort and some serious thought. He says (through a story in Matthew chapter seven) that when we build our lives on the foundation of his words, when we listen to his words and do what he says, we will have a life that will endure any trial, any difficulty in life, anything that pulls us down or breaks our heart…anything. But, if we listen to his words and then don’t do what he says, our lives will fall apart in the storms of life and fall into ruin.

Let Jesus show you how to live this life. Read his words and do what he says. Build your life on him, the only true foundation that will sustain forever. Decide today to listen to him and start making choices for you and your family that will keep you strong. You won’t regret it!

(This song is upbeat and fun. I wrote this song as a psalm to God one morning, letting him hear my heart of devotion to him, claiming my daily trust in Him who can fulfill His promises. My friend Cameron plays the drums on this song. I wrote this song in the morning and that very night we jammed this recording out. You can imagine us in my living room, amplified and rockin’ the neighborhood, working out what to do with this song. I think we tried recording this twice and this was the second take. See if you can hear me drop my pick! He’s a good friend to put up with me and my lack of musicianship during our “jam sessions”.)

Forever I Will Stay

Nothing will pull me down
Enough to pull away
This joy I feel inside
Forever I will stay

Nothing will break my heart
Enough to break away
From your unfailing love
Forever I will stay
Oh-oh-oh

Chorus:
God, please take my offering
Yours, I’m yours forever
You, I put my trust in you
Forever I will stay
Oh-oh-oh

My feet on solid ground
In you I will be found
With nothing in my way
Forever I will stay
Oh-oh-oh

Your light will lead me on
Through each and everyday
I’ll trust in you alone
Forever I will stay
Oh-oh-oh
Chorus

On Christ the solid rock
I’ll stand forever
One with my God and King
I’ll stand forever

My comforter and friend
Your love will never end
Your cross has set me free
You will deliver me
Chorus
