Passing On Faith Heirlooms
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6:4-7
How well are you doing with passing your faith down to your children and your grandchildren? Are you intentional with your words at any point in the day regarding your faith?
When you are sitting around in the house doing nothing but watching TV with your children or grandchildren, do you find ways to bring God into your viewing enjoyment?
When you are riding in the car trying to get from one place to another, do you ever ask your children or grandchildren if they can see God in creation?
When you are walking or running around the trail in your neighborhood, do you ever ask your children or grandchildren if they have any questions about faith?
When you go into their bedroom to kiss your children or grandchildren goodnight, do you ever share a scripture with them that may encourage them to commit their life to Jesus?
When you go and watch your children and grandchildren play in a sports game, do you ever encourage them to give God all the glory for their efforts?
Let’s share our faith with our children and our grandchildren in all we do…today.
