Consider this: Jesus said, "'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.' "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life" (Matt. 25:46). We sing, "Service to others is service to you...," and rightly so. But Jesus would tell us, once prompted by the Spirit to express His love to another, it then becomes a matter of obedience-righteousness or unrighteousness. According to this, more hangs in the balance than a missed opportunity when the "do" of our faith is ignored.

When are we successful in faith? Is it not when we finally become useful to God for the fulfillment of His purposes?

I don't know always how to discern when God is prompting. We know He will always prompt in accord with His word. We know the "do" will always resonate HIs character. And we know it will produce blessing as He wills and defines. Our job is simply to listen, to try in love, and to look to glorify His Name. So "Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."

You brought me to blessed meditation this morning brother! Thank you for sharing!
